ABOUT 26 The Professional and Management Association (PMA) of IIUM was established under Section 7 of the Societies Act 1966 on January 18, 2011. It comprises professionals and administrators from various departments, serving as a platform to unite the workforce and facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences among its members. This association acts as the collective voice for professionals and administrators at IIUM conveying views and recommendations on management and administrative issues. It provides valuable input to the management in efforts to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the university's daily operations. It plays a crucial role in supporting the university management and ensuring smooth administration in line with the institution's philosophy and goals. Through the organization of welfare and career development programs, as well as the encouragement of social and sports activities, PMA is committed to empowering its members. Additionally, economic activities conducted according to Islamic principles ensure financial benefits for all members. Membership in PMA, which includes various departments, makes it dynamic and inclusive. Members can share their expertise, enriching knowledge and skills in various fields, thus fostering innovation and improvement in the management processes at IIUM. PMA also strategically forms relationships with relevant registered bodies, strengthening support for the association's objectives and responsibilities. PMA's involvement in the Malaysian Association of Public University Administrative Officers (MASTI) reinforces the role of administrators as a key entity in public higher education institutions. This participation provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, facilitating cooperation and enhancing efficiency among public university administrators across the country.
