This unit is responsible to coordinate and manage the translation project and dealing with the international publishers. Despites from “buying”, the unit also "sells" books—or, more specifically, the right to publish a book in alternate formats, different languages, and to adapt it for different media). The objectives of the IIUM Translation Book Project are as follows:  To increase interest in translation and reading activities among the students, academic communities and public.  To increase the translation publishingwork in various fields and genres in order to provide more reading material for everyone.  To increase a collection of IIUM publication in various languages.  To enhance the visibility of the IIUM Press publications through collaboration with local and international publishers.  To expand the promotion and marketing of Malaysian translation publishing works generally and specifically IIUM Press publications locally and abroad.
